Day 1. Welcome to Whitehouse Country House.
A light lunch of homemade soup, warm fresh baked bread and salad with Peelham Farm's smoked ham and Roxburghe Roundie cheeses, which is part of the Borders Food Network.
A trip to Kelso to Tweedside Tackle where Mr Van Riels is (by pre-arrangement) being kitted out with waders and fishing rod which he is hiring for tomorrow's salmon fishing. Mr Cameron has all his fishing equipment with him, however he needs to buy some essential "flies". Upon advice from Roger at Whitehouse they have pre-booked their beat through FishTweed and will be at Lower Pavilion, Melrose tomorrow.
The ladies meanwhile, have dipped next door to have some retail therapy in Hawick Cashmere.
Dinner with wild smoked salmon and fillet of Roe Deer, followed by a trio of chocolate, with coffee and peppermint tea in the drawing room.
Day 2. The boys breakfast early and well. Full of anticipation of the day ahead, yhey set off complete with a picnic hamper to go to meet the ghillie at the river.
The girls (friends from school) have a more leisurely and lighter breakfast of freshly made smoothie, eyemouth smoked haddock and poached egg. They then walk from Whitehouse down to the river and join the St. Cuthberts way and take 4 hours walking via the Eildon hills (talking all the way) to Melrose.
Lunch in either Burts or The Townhouse. A look at Melrose Abbey and the shops before crossing the footbridge to meet up with the boys at Lower Pavillion.
Back to Whitehouse for Tea - then another delicious dinner and great joviality swopping fishing tales with the other guests.
Day 3. After breakfast a run in to St. Boswells to stock up on some of the local butcher's (JC Douglas) award winning "St. Boswells Bangers" and "haggis bread". These will be kept in the fridge at Whitehouse until they depart.
Lunch at Teviot smokery and water gardens, then on to Kelso Races with their pre-arranged passes and entry tickets for Ladies Day.
Another evening feast at Whitehouse.
Day 4. Off to Eyemouth for a pre-booked sea fishing trip with Eyemouth sea fishing and bird watching trips.
Dinner at Oblos on the harbour front.
Day 5. A late breakfast, lots of photos and chat. Sitting outside and having coffee in the garden before the Camerons head back North and the van Riels make their way across to to Dumfries and Castle Douglas where another night of being spoiled awaits them at Chipperkyle B&B.
