Whitehouse Itinerary

Borders

 

Day 1.

Arrive at Whitehouse in time for afternoon tea.
Three course home cooked dinner using local or our own produce.
Coffee and tea by the fire in the drawing room.

Day 2.

After breakfasting on eyemouth kippers.its off to Dryburgh abbey.
From there a short drive up the hill to the Wallace statue and then on to Scotts View, before dropping down the hill and on into melrose for lunch at either Burts Hotel or The townhouse.
In the afternoon time to enjoy the delights of Melrose Abbey and Abbotsford House, where afternoon tea is savoured.
Dinner at Whitehouse.

Day 3.

A visit to Smailholm tower with its rugged beuty. Then off to Selkirk for coffee at Baxters and then apre organised visit round Lochcarron cashmere visitor centre.
The afternoon completes with a trip around Bowhill house, Selkirk.

Day 4.

An easy morning spent in Mainstreet trading and craft company enjoying the coffee and homemade goodies whilst browsing the glorious bookshop.
The afternoon at Jedburgh abbey and the mary queen of Scots visitor centre.
Dinner at Whitehouse.

Day 5.

Mellerstain house . Spend the afternoon at Whitehouse relaxing and reading with afternoon tea either in the garden.
Time for a snooze before going to see Shakespeare in the garden ( A midsummer nights dream)at Floors castle.
A pre booked late supper at Oscars.

Day 6.

Depart. So much to see with so little time. We missed the homecoming Clan Scott Gathering at bowhilll, the borders book festival and the Traquair medieval fayre to name a few. We will just have to return again and again.....
